Come and learn all the basics needed to complete a quilt top!
In this class you will learn all the techniques necessary to complete an Irish Chain quilt top. The class is aimed at absolute beginners, including how to press your fabric, how to use a rotary cutter, how to cut fabric and sew your first blocks, accurate seam allowances, etc. We will not be teaching you how to use your sewing machine, you need to already know how to operate the basic functions, like how to thread your machine, how to wind your bobbins, how to sew a straight line.
PLEASE READ ALL INFO BELOW BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THE CLASS
Class fee includes tuition, pattern, shared use of facilities, and lots of guaranteed fun. We have split this series of classes into three manageable sessions, with four weeks between classes, giving you plenty of time to complete your homework and consolidate your newfound knowledge. Class size limited to six participants.
The first two photos in this listing show Andrea's class sample, and the following photos are examples of other Irish Chains that you may find appealing. Visit us in the weeks prior to your class and we will help you select fabric for your top.
You must bring your own sewing machine and attachments to the class (a 1/4" foot is advantageous but not essential). Your machine needs to be in good working order. Ensure you bring the instruction manual so that you can trouble-shoot if needbe. The class will not be teaching you how to operate your machine, you need to be able to drive it.
